The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.

This book picks up after the prequel (Durotan) and pretty much follows the movie plot. However, there is a lot more time here to expand and explain things. The added time and back story helps to make the characters a bit deeper and the connection to them more real. However, despite the additional time, I did feel the story was a bit more rushed, shallow, and empty compared to the prequel. And ultimately I felt like Durotan’s contribution to the story was wasted with him accomplishing very little. The narration was pretty decent and in the same style as the prequel. I’ve seen others complain about the accents but it didn’t bother me. Overall, an entertaining story in a great game universe.
